And for good reasons. So, in this blog, let’s renew our acquaintance with three of these tried-and-true great facial rejuvenation choices, all of them fast and simple injectables.
Juvéderm
There are actually several products in this famous line of injectables. Here at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, we use both Ultra XC and Voluma.
Juvéderm Ultra XC is a great product for lip augmentation. It has the right consistency and provides volume to the lips as well as definition to the edges of the lips, which is an added benefit for some patients. Injections last about a year.
Juvéderm Voluma is an option Dr. Hernandez often chooses to add volume and a more lifted appearance to the cheeks, and she says it is her preferred product for nasal contouring. Once it sets, it feels naturally firm and provides support to the various areas of the nose. Voluma injections last 2 years.
Botox
This injectable product is famous the world over, and it is now used in more ways than ever. But have you tried it yet? Dr. Hernandez also uses Xeomin, a closely related, more purified derivative of Botulinum toxin. Millions of women and men swear by Botox, and as a medical professional, Dr. Hernandez appreciates the benefits, too.
“Botox Cosmetic and Xeomin treatments help improve the signs of aging in the upper face (around the eyes and forehead) tremendously,” she says. “They smooth out the lines and wrinkles completely in some, and minimize the look of deep wrinkles in many as well.”
Adding to those immediate benefits, “it is well known that Botox also has a preventative effect when it is used over years.” Injections last a few months. With repetition, injections can prevent new wrinkles from forming as well as deepening of previously-existing wrinkles.
Kybella
This product was developed quite some time ago specifically for reducing double chin. We have other ways of addressing this problem, for many patients, Kybella remains the best choice. For example, Dr. Hernandez says Kybella has been very popular with patients that seek non-surgical options to reduce the fat accumulation that forms the double chin — especially men. Plus, the treatment is quick. It takes her an average of about 2 minutes to inject.
