While the purpose of a facial is to refresh the surface appearance of your skin, chemical peels actually remove the surface cells. This exfoliation process reveals new skin that looks smoother, healthier, and more vibrant. Each type of peel is designed to address certain skin types and conditions, and each treatment is individually tailored to your needs.
At Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, we offer several types of peels that range from very mild options with minimal downtime to stronger solutions that produce more aggressive results and require longer recovery time.
SkinMedica Illuminize Peel
Get radiant, luminous skin with little downtime and little to no peeling. This peel is ideal for mild skin imperfections. It gently accelerates exfoliation to produce fresh, healthy-looking skin, and can be repeated every 2 weeks until desired results are achieved.
This treatment smooths fine lines, wrinkles and roughness for skin that has moderate to severs imperfections. Post-procedure skin sloughing can range from mild flaking to skin peeling in sheets. You will see noticeable improvement after just one peel but more dramatic results after 3-6 peels. This peel is combined with a retinol solution.
his peel brings a radiant glow to skin with mild imperfections such as fine lines and wrinkles or roughness, producing visible results after just one treatment and much more noticeable results after 3-6 peels. You will see smoother skin with improved tone and texture. Downtime is minimal.
This light chemical peel uses trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to reduce light facial wrinkles, irregular pigmentation, pore size and mild acne scarring. We can adjust the concentration of TCA to match the depth of peel desired.
ZO Skin Peels
- ZO Stimulator Peel is a mild option that promotes exfoliation and cell turnover to improve skin texture, clarity and tone, leaving skin calm and smooth without redness or peeling. It takes just minutes, so it’s a great lunch-hour choice.
- Zo Controlled Depth Peel is an aggressive option for those with severe skin laxity or leathery sun damage, scarring, or advanced melasma. The peel tightens skin and reduces inflammation for a smoother, healthier appearance.
- ZO 3-Step Peel is also an aggressive option, designed to improve skin health and reduce discoloration and signs of aging. The 3-Step Peel combines exfoliants with retinol to boost the skin’s natural ability to protect itself, and it also boosts collagen production for visibly firmer and smoother skin. The third step is an in-home treatment that further combats signs of aging.
Should you get a chemical peel?
There are pros and cons to each type of facial peel. All of them require at least a little downtime, and it will take a few days or more to see results, as you have to give your skin time to peel following the treatment. Therefore, before scheduling a chemical peel, you’ll want to be sure this is the best treatment choice for you and, if so, which option is right for your skin.
During your personal consultation at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, we start with a complimentary skin analysis, then discuss your goals, so we can recommend the most effective treatment plan to help you achieve healthier – and healthier-looking – facial skin.
