Why would you want to exfoliate the skin on your back? Because you deserve healthy, smooth skin all over your body, not only on your face! Exfoliation can benefit everyone – all genders, any age, all skin types and colors. And your back is an especially good candidate for this type of treatment:
- Exfoliation occurs naturally, but the process slows as you get older leaving your skin more vulnerable to build-up of debris that can clog pores and cause irritation.
- Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, oils, and dirt from the surface.
- The skin on your back contains more sebaceous glands (the ones that produce oil) than skin elsewhere on your body (except the forehead and chin), so it can be more prone to clogged pores that become blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. Exfoliation reduces natural oil production.
- Body skin is thicker than facial skin, so if your back requires more aggressive exfoliation, we can do that safely.
- An exfoliating treatment can feel really great.
There are exfoliating products you can use at home, and you probably do that even though you also schedule professional treatments to get more comprehensive results and address skin issues that exfoliation does not correct. But it’s easy to apply a light scrub or masque to your face. Your back? Well, no. You need a professional who can perform a personally customized treatment while you relax in comfort.
At Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, we offer several exfoliating treatments to revitalize the skin on your back.
Unlike harsh dermabrasion, our diamond-tip microdermabrasion is gentle on the skin, so the treatment feels something like a facial. The wand-like device removes surface cells and irregularities by lightly “sanding” the skin. Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types and produces impressive results, especially to clear pores and reduce the appearance of acne scars, discoloration, and sun damage. It does not hurt, and it requires no downtime.
This unique treatment is a three-step process that cleanses and exfoliates the skin, then works to clear pores and rehydrate, and finally nourishes the skin with an infusion of antioxidants and peptides. HydraFacial is suitable for all skin types, and although the treatment is gentle and relaxing, it produces noticeable results. This is a great option if you’re looking for a monthly maintenance treatment to keep your back skin in top condition.
While some exfoliating treatments use gentle scrubbing or scraping to remove surface cells and debris, chemical peels use various types of solutions to cleanse the skin and resurface the skin. At Eterna Cosmetic Surgery we use a variety of peels from very mild to stronger solutions, depending on each patient’s skin condition and desired results.
This treatment rejuvenates skin by creating microscopic wounds that stimulate production of new collagen, elastin, and blood vessels that support healthier, firmer new skin. Microneedling can be especially useful in reducing the appearance of acne and other scars on the back as well as correcting sun damage. Patients may choose to add platelet-rich plasma treatment to enhance their microneedling results.
This treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to treat acne scars and discoloration as well as help tighten skin. While Morpheus8 can produce excellent results, we may recommend Morpheus8 Body instead to provide deeper treatment. Either way, these treatments require little downtime.
Facials (yes, for your back!)
We offer a wide variety of facials at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, including one that focuses on exfoliation. This facial uses a mask specifically formulated to remove dead skin cells and speed cell turnover, for improved skin texture.
