The natural act of aging takes an incredible toll on our skin. Skin is affected by weight loss or gain, sun exposure, genetics, the foods we eat...many everyday tasks make an incredible impact on our skin and in particular, our faces.
Eterna Cosmetic Surgery was the first practice in San Antonio, Texas to start offering Morpheus8. We are proud to serve as the leading Morpheus8 provider in San Antonio, bringing copious amounts of experience, expertise and care to patients along with this cutting-edge treatment.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is the latest safe, noninvasive skin resurfacing treatment available from Eterna Cosmetic Surgery in San Antonio that can take years off of your appearance with minimal to no downtime. It is a unique, fractional radiofrequency (RF) skin rejuvenation treatment that safely and dramatically improves the appearance of your skin.
Morpheus8 is such a powerful, cutting-edge technology, Dr. Hernandez herself has had two treatments to improve fine lines, jowls, and acne scars. She is thrilled with the results and is honored to offer this state-of-the-art treatment to her patients from the Eterna office in San Antonio.
How does Morpheus8 work?
Morpheus8 instantly improves your skin’s texture and tone using a combination of microneedling and localized heat to boost your body’s production of collagen and elastin, critical proteins that decrease as we age. The Treatment is highly personalized by Dr. Hernandez based on each patient’s needs and goals. Dr. Hernandez will conduct a personal, thorough consultation with all patients to discuss their goals, review before and after photos and determine the best course of treatment.
Who is a suitable candidate for Morpheus8?
Dr. Hernandez uses Morpheus8 to firm the skin and improve the texture of skin across the body, including the face, neck, decolletage, breasts, abdomen, back, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, and knees. Patients requiring a smoother, more youthful appearance of the skin in these areas are suitable candidates for Morpheus8.
Morpheus 8 is a safe and effective method for rejuvenating the skin and is suitable for all genders and skin types. Younger patients who want to treat their skin issues; however, are not as concerned about firming their skin are more often referred to microneedling treatment by Dr. Hernandez.
What happens during treatment with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 uses advanced radiofrequency microneedling technology with 24 needles (nearly double that of standard microneedling) that can be adjusted in penetration from 1 mm to up to 4 mm below the surface to deliver its radiofrequency energy. This morphs (or molds) the fat into the desired contour and significantly firms the skin.
Morpheus8 delivers outstanding results as a standalone treatment; however, Dr. Hernandez most often recommends Morpheus8 treatment as part of her EmbraceRF treatment. EmbraceRF is a procedure in which FaceTite is performed to firm the skin on the lower part of the face and neck, which minimizes jowls and defines the jawline and neck. Then, Morpheus8 is performed on these same areas to firm the skin and mold the fat.
Morpheus8 can also be used for treatment across the body. Specifically, many patients choose to combine Morpheus8 with BodyTite treatment to enhance their results in common problem areas including the stomach, arms, chest, knees, inner/outer thighs, and the hips (love handles/muffin top).
What happens after Morpheus8 treatment?
Immediately following Morpheus8 treatment at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery in San Antonio, Dr. Hernandez applies a soothing, hydrating cream to calm your skin and help minimize redness. She also offers patients the option of using their own PRP (platelet rich plasma) directly following Morpheus8 treatment. Plasma contains significant growth factors and nutrients to calm the skin and boost results, reaching into the deepest layers of the skin through the small openings created during Morpheus8 treatment.
Patients should expect redness, mild swelling, and areas of shiny skin for three to five days. Your skin may become flaky and/or peel during this time. While your skin is healing, Dr. Hernandez recommends wearing copious amounts of sunscreen and avoiding sun exposure for 24 to 48 hours after treatment.
Most patients can return to work the day following treatment depending on their specific level of comfort with the now-fading irritation. Dr. Hernandez and the Eterna Cosmetic Surgery team will discuss your post-procedure follow up to help you determine the best course of follow up for your specific needs.
