Experience Life Without Excessive Sweating With Hyperhidrosis Treatments in San Antonio

We all sweat sometimes—whether it’s from being out in the sun, warm temperatures, exercising, or even simple activities like climbing stairs. Sweating is our body’s natural cooling system. However, for some, the sweating becomes excessive.

Hyperhidrosis, a condition that affects between 2% and 3% of Americans, leads to excessive sweating of the underarms, palms, soles of the feet, and sometimes even the face. This condition can damage confidence, causing stained clothing, social discomfort, and even challenges like holding a pen or driving a car.

Fortunately, you don’t have to live with hyperhidrosis. Dr. Hernandez offers advanced hyperhidrosis treatments at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery in San Antonio, Texas. She helps restore patients’ confidence, relieving the anxiety caused by excessive sweating. Whether you have mild, moderate, or severe hyperhidrosis, Dr. Hernandez can provide life-changing results tailored to your needs.

cuTite and Morpheus8 As Medical Treatments for Hyperhidrosis

Patients seeking permanent relief from hyperhidrosis often elect for AccuTite and Morpheus8 treatment from Dr. Hernandez. This powerful combination of cutting-edge treatments offers incredible results for patients suffering from hyperhidrosis of the underarms. A Morpheus8 treatment alone effectively treats hyperhidrosis of the face, palms, and soles of the feet.

What happens during hyperhidrosis treatment with AccuTite and Morpheus8?

Treatment of hyperhidrosis with AccuTite and Morpheus8 is typically completed in one session; however, in rare circumstances, a second Morpheus8 session may be necessary. Treatment is completed in the Eterna Cosmetic Surgery office using a local anesthetic to numb the immediate area.

One needle puncture in each underarm area is all that is needed for AccuTite treatment. Morpheus8 has been performed immediately after. This technique is used for axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis. Radiofrequency energy is delivered to your sweat glands, causing them to stop over producing sweat.

Morpheus8 treatment is used to eliminate excessive sweating in the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and (in rare circumstances) the face. First, Dr. Hernandez applies a numbing cream on the areas to be treated. Morpheus8 treatment combines microneedling and localized heat from radiofrequency to desensitize the sweat glands and eliminate hyperhidrosis.

What happens after AccuTite and Morpheus8 treatment?

Dr. Hernandez recommends patients rest the day of their treatment. You will be able to return to work and daily activities the day following your AccuTite and Morpheus8 hyperhidrosis treatment. The needle puncture site from AccuTite treatment will heal within a day or two after treatment. You may have mild swelling, small areas of bruising, or small dots of scabbing in the area(s) that received Morpheus8 treatment. These will heal within four to seven days after treatment.

Dr. Hernandez will provide you with a soothing recovery cream that can be applied for two (2) days as needed after treatment. You will start to notice a decrease in excessive sweating within 2 to 3 weeks after treatment, and should expect full results after 3 months. These results are permanent (and life changing)!

Botox Injections

Botulinum toxin, more commonly known as Botox, has been used successfully to treat hyperhidrosis for many years. This safe treatment blocks the nerves in your armpits, palms, face, or the soles of your feet to prevent your body from activating sweat glands. With hyperhidrosis, these nerves are overactive, resulting in the production of too much sweat. Botox “shuts off” the nerves so that the overactive messages aren’t received.

What happens during hyperhidrosis treatment with Botox injections?

Dr. Hernandez treats patients with Botox injections in the Eterna Cosmetic Surgery office. After the skin is prepped with alcohol, Dr. Hernandez injects small amounts of Botox into areas of the skin affected by excessive sweating.

You may experience mild discomfort during the series of injections, which are given using very small needles. To minimize this discomfort, Dr. Hernandez also uses a NueVvibe, which is a vibration device that sits on your skin, to essentially “distract” your nerve endings from the pain.

What happens after Botox injections?

There is no downtime for hyperhidrosis treatment with Botox injections. Dr. Hernandez recommends you avoid touching the treated areas for the remainder of your treatment day. You should also keep the injection sites clean and dry.  Your injection sites will heal fully in a day or two after treatment.

Patients will see results from hyperhidrosis treatment with Botox injections after approximately 1 to 2 weeks, with results lasting approximately 3 to 4 months after treatment.
