Oh, those frustrating, flabby-looking upper arms! As we age, our skin loses elasticity and starts to sag. Over-exposure to the sun, fluctuating weight, even genetics can make upper arms droop and jiggle. Yet you cannot exercise your way to a solution. There is a fix, though, and it doesn’t have to involve surgery.
Welcome to the Scarless Arm Lift! Finally, you can say goodbye to flabbiness and say hello to firmer, smoother, younger-looking arms.
What is a Scarless Arm Lift?
Up till now, the only way to eliminate upper arm sagginess was to undergo invasive surgery. Our Scarless Arm Lift is a non-surgical alternative that combines Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening with VASER Liposuction, if needed, to produce surgical-like results. And since it really is scarless, no one will ever know. You can feel attractive and confident again wearing sleeveless tops, tanks, and swimwear.
With traditional arm lift surgery, called brachioplasty, the surgeon makes an incision down the inside of each arm from the armpit to the elbow, then removes excess fat and skin, repositions underlying tissues, and sutures the remaining skin back together. This may be your only option if you have severe skin laxity and fatty deposits. However, for those who haven’t reached that point yet, the Scarless Arm Lift offers numerous benefits.
Who is a good candidate?
The best candidates for the Scarless Arm Lift are typically in their 30s to 50s, with mild to moderate loose skin on their arms. As with any surgery, it is best if you are in good overall health, close to your ideal weight, don’t smoke, and have realistic expectations about the results.
Benefits of a Scarless Arm Lift
Compared to surgery, our Eterna scarless option:
- Is much faster, performed as an outpatient procedure
- Produces far less discomfort
- Requires just 2 days for recovery (the day of your procedure and the day after), rather than a week or more
- Produces similar results without scarring
- Costs considerably less
What happens during a Scarless Arm Lift?
Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez custom-tailors each arm lift procedure to the patient, using the most advanced skin rejuvenation techniques -- Renuvion J-Plasma and, sometimes, VASERlipo.
She performs the Renuvion treatment first. After applying a numbing agent, she makes 1 or 2 tiny “puncture” incisions, then uses Renuvion’s unique radiofrequency-heated helium gas plasma to contract the septal fiber network, proteins, and collagens in the skin. Next, she inserts a thin liposuction cannula into the same incision, using advanced VASER Liposuction to remove any excess fat. With her skill and expertise, she is able to produce contours that look more youthful and toned and skin that looks firmer and smoother.
To finalize the procedure, Dr. Hernandez applies a soothing recovery cream.
What happens after a Scarless Arm Lift?
You will rest at home the day after your procedure, then you can get back to normal activities. The treated area may feel sore for a while, and Dr. Hernandez may recommend you wear a compression garment for 3 weeks or so. You’ll start to see firmer, smoother upper arms as swelling subsides, with increasing improvement over the next 3 to 6 months.
Get even better results
Renuvion J-Plasma treatment works to resurface skin as well as tighten it. However, for some patients, Dr. Hernandez may recommend adding Morpheus8 -- a combination of radiofrequency and microneedling -- to enhance results of your Scarless Arm Lift. She will perform the Morpheus8 treatment over the entire arm lift area, to further tighten skin and improve its texture. Like Renuvion, Morpheus8 also stimulates new collagen production, so the skin will continue to improve even more over time.
Patients may also choose to add a platelet-rich plasma treatment during Moroheus8, which helps to speed healing and deliver maximum results.
