New and improved. Dramatically improved. That’s VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction. For 20 years, traditional liposuction has enabled women and men to achieve slimmer, smoother contours by getting rid of stubborn fat. Liposuction works, but it is also harsh. Now, patients at Eterna Cosmetic Surgery can take advantage of VASERlipo, an innovative alternative that is much gentler but even more effective than traditional liposuction.
And with VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction, you can go beyond fat removal to achieve advanced body contouring. You can look not only slimmer and trimmer, but more buff.
What Makes VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction Different?
This advanced technology allows Dr. Hernandez to produce more precise sculpting, contouring the fat around muscle groups to enhance their definition in patients who want a more athletic appearance. Even healthy, very fit and trim people are interested in Vaser Hi-Def, she notes, because it can help them achieve the exact amount of muscle definition they desire.
What Can VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction Do for You?
VASERlipo and VASER Hi-Def are for all genders. More and more women are looking for the trim, muscular look, especially on their abdomen. VASERlipo can be an effective option to improve contouring of the:
- Chin, jowls, and neck
- Hips and flanks
Dr. Hernandez offers the VASERlipo option to all patients who are interested in liposuction as well as anyone interested in Vaser Hi-Def Lipo for increased muscle definition. She also uses this technique when she performs BodyTite, FaceTite, and Cellfina cellulite treatment.
For patients whose primary goal is to lose fat, VASERlipo offers several benefits compared to traditional suction assisted liposuction. It debulks large amounts of fat precisely, gently, very effectively, and provides better skin retraction and less risk of abnormal scar tissue formation.
For patients who are already pretty fit but want to look more athletic, VASER Hi-Def can trim away more of the fat and precisely sculpt the underlying musculature, helping achieve the definition that you haven’t been able to achieve on your own. Want better-defined arms or legs? Want a full-on six-pack? VASER Hi-Def is for you.
In some cases, Dr. Hernandez can even augment muscle contouring by using fat transfer or Renuva injection treatment to add volume to muscles. She can do this during the Vaser Hi-Def Lipo treatment or afterward.
Although VASERlipo can produce smoother, tighter skin than traditional liposuction, patients still must have some good skin elasticity to achieve great results. Therefore those who have excess skin folds with poor skin elasticity are not candidates for VASERlipo. Instead, for patients with excessive skin laxity Dr. Hernandez recommends RFAL BodyTite Pro or, in certain cases, surgical skin excision.
Pregnant women are also not candidates for VASERlipo.
How Does VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction Work?
With traditional liposuction, the surgeon inserts a cannula and physically manipulates it to separate fat so it can be removed. VASERlipo technology uses ultrasound energy to more gently separate and remove fat cells. The procedure is performed in-office under local anesthetic. Dr. Hernandez first makes a very small incision, then introduces a medicated solution under the skin to treat the fat cells. Next, she uses the ultrasound energy to separate unwanted fat and gently suction it away.
VASERlipo affects only the fat, eliminating risk of damage to surrounding tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. Patients have less bleeding during the treatment because the blood vessels are left intact, and patients have less bruising afterward, making recovery more comfortable. Bleeding during and after liposuction is associated with abnormally thick scar tissue formation in the treated areas, so Dr. Hernandez always tries to avoid this situation to limit the risk of contour irregularities.
Minimal bleeding also means Dr. Hernandez can treat multiple body areas in one session using VASERlipo.
What Happens After VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction?
Because VASERlipo is gentler on the body, it makes the treatment experience more tolerable and the recovery less uncomfortable. Nonetheless, patients can expect to have some initial swelling and bruising. You should expect to take a day or so off your normal routine to rest, then gradually return to more strenuous activities over the next 2 to 3 weeks.
In addition, because this procedure targets only fat cells while leaving other tissue support structures intact, patients have better skin retraction following the treatment. Results will be impressively noticeable right away, and skin tightening will continue over a period of several months, revealing final results in about 18 months. Results are permanent, since fat that is removed will not return. However, weight loss or gain and the normal process of aging can affect results as time goes by.
The results you can achieve from any type of cosmetic procedure depend on the surgeon’s skill and specific experience. Although some surgeons prefer not to perform liposuction, for Dr. Hernandez, facial and body contouring are both her expertise and her passion. She is sought-after because of her extensive experience helping weight loss patients and others achieve their goals when it comes to creating the healthier, trimmer look they desire.
