Almost everyone has unwanted hair somewhere on their body. Waxing is an effective and surprisingly versatile way to remove unwanted hair from your face to your toes. And it’s for both men and women. Waxing is great for small, delicate areas such as the upper lip, for larger, less sensitive areas such as the back and legs, and for areas that require precision such as eyebrows and bikini lines.

At Eterna, we offer waxing for:

  • Brow Shaping – between and around eyebrows
  • Upper Lip and Chin
  • Full Face
  • Abdomen
  • Half Arm
  • Full Arm
  • Half Back
  • Full Back
  • Basic Bikini
  • Bikini Modified
  • Brazilian
  • Inner Buttock
  • Full Buttock
  • Half Leg
  • Full Leg
  • Underarms
  • Trim – not more than a ¼” from the ends of remaining hair, for neatness and maintenance

What Happens During the Treatment?

Warm wax is applied to the treatment area in the direction of hair growth and allowed to harden. Then it is peeled off in the opposite direction of hair growth, removing both hairs and their follicles from beneath the skin’s surface. At Eterna, we use very high-quality Starpil hard waxes that provide gentler experience because they don’t stick to the skin.

The treatment takes around 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being waxed.

Waxing requires hair – at least 2 weeks’ growth is ideal. At Eterna, we recommend repeating wax treatments every 2 weeks for facial hair or every 4 weeks for other areas.

What Happens After Waxing?

Your skin will feel a bit tender at first, so it’s best to wear loose clothing that won’t irritate the treated area. You can apply a light, soothing product such as witch hazel or aloe vera, but nothing like heavy lotions because they can clog pores. We recommend avoiding antiperspirant for 24 hours after underarm waxing, and avoiding sexual activity for 24 hours after pubic area waxing.

Why Choose Waxing?

Waxing works for everyone

Laser hair removal can provide a more permanent alternative to waxing, but it is not effective or recommended for everyone. Lasers cannot target fine blonde hair, therefore waxing is a better option. Also, lasers cannot be used to treat under-eye area or hair between eyebrows, due to the risk of lasers damaging the eyes (vision). Pregnant and nursing women are not good candidates for lasers either.

Waxing may be preferable for some areas

Even if you are a good candidate for laser, the area you want to treat may be too delicate or sensitive, such as the bikini area. Or you may not want to go all the way with laser and prefer a Brazilian wax instead.

Flexibility

Besides, fashion trends change and laser treatment results can be virtually permanent. With waxing, you can always change your look.

Immediate results

With waxing, hair is gone. You don’t have to wait for it to gradually fall out as with laser treatments.

Cost

With laser you will need more than one treatment to remove hair. Many times the recommended 6 laser treatments are still not enough to get everything. Laser hair removal can cost $300 per session, whereas waxing runs $25-125 depending on the area.
