Research estimates that anywhere from 85% of women (and even some men) suffer from cellulite deposits. People of all shapes and sizes suffer from cellulite, and it is one of the most stubborn cosmetic issues facing people today.

Most commonly seen on the buttocks and thighs, women start noticing cellulite on their bodies in their early-20s to mid-30s. As we get older, its appearance becomes more pronounced.

There is only one cellulite treatment that treats the cause of the cellulite, by cutting the fibrous bands that form cellulite dimples. It also provides long-lasting results of up to 5 years in clinical trials. It has an extremely high patient satisfaction rate, and is a minimally-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment.

That option is Cellfina.

Cellfina is a minimally-invasive treatment for cellulite.

What is Cellfina

Cellfina is a minimally-invasive treatment to eliminate cellulite dimples — with an extraordinarily high level of patient satisfaction. Cellfina treats cellulite at the source, rather than attempting to mask the issue.

Cellfina is the only one-time cellulite treatment that provides a permanent result. Patients receive a guarantee direct from Merz, the company that developed and owns Cellfina technology, that their cellulite dimples will not come back.

How Cellfina works

To understand how Cellfina works, it’s important to understand how cellulite dimples appear in the first place. Connective tissue, called fibrous bands, connect your skin to the tissue underneath. When the fibrous bands pull some skin in and there is fat underneath, that surrounding fat can bulge. This creates small depressions, or cellulite dimples, throughout the area.

Cellfina eradicates dimples using a minimally-invasive procedure and technology that is interestingly enough, also used to treat scars and wrinkles.

The actual Cellfina procedure uses technology that includes a suction device (similar to suction cups you may have seen or used in the past). This suction device picks up the patient’s tissue specifically at the point of the cellulite dimple.

From there, a thin needle is used to numb each dimple area. Finally, a second vibrating needle is used to cut the fibrous bands underneath the skin that form the dimple.

Is Cellfina right for me?

Since Cellfina is a minimally-invasive procedure, anyone with cellulite dimples of the buttocks or thighs is a candidate for this treatment.

What can I expect during and after Cellfina treatment?

Each cellulite dimple that is treated with Cellfina disappears completely. The result is smooth, dimple-free skin.

Cellfina treatment alone typically takes between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on the number of dimples being treated. If combined with other treatments (see below), the duration will be longer.

Post-treatment, each treated area is sore, swollen and usually bruised. Patients will wear a compression garment for one week, although most people return to work the next day.

Although many patients are sore, most do not require prescription strength pain medication and receive adequate pain relief using an over the counter pain medication like Tylenol.

In fact, most patients say the feel sore but are able to tolerate the discomfort without any pain medication at all!

What else can I do to achieve my desired look?

Cellfina technology is particularly unique because it can be completed in the same session as several other procedures, providing a simple, time-maximizing treatment option for patients.

Many patients elect the following procedures alongside Cellfina treatment:
