Naturally, you want great looking skin on your wedding day. Whatever your age or gender, you want every square inch that’s visible to be as perfect as possible, to let your inner glow shine through! So if you’re planning a wedding, be sure to plan ahead for radiant skin, too.

Right now, you might look in the mirror and see issues from tired-looking skin to wrinkles to specific imperfections such as uneven tone or texture or scars. At Eterna Cosmetic Surgery we offer many excellent treatment options to correct or diminish specific skin problems and restore fresh, healthy, vibrant – yes, glowing – skin.

With so many choices, we asked our Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez about the best choices to achieve great looking skin on your wedding day and when you should schedule your treatments to produce maximum wedding day impact.

Face, neck, and décolletage

  • HydraFacial for all of these areas, the day before or even the day of the wedding, gets the skin looking radiant.
  • Botox, 2 weeks prior.
  • Lip filler or other facial fillers, 2 to 4 weeks prior.
  • Microneedling with Plasma 1 month prior can also firm and improve the look of the skin in any or all of these areas.

Arms

Morpheus8 for arms has become very popular at our clinic. This treatment greatly improves skin texture by firming the skin and clearing the skin of acne, acne scars, sun damage spots and lightening freckles that have darkened from sun exposure. Morpheus8 treatments should be done 1 to 3 months prior to the wedding, depending on how many monthly treatments you wish to have. (Dr. Hernandez often recommends multiple sessions to achieve maximum results.)

Shoulders and back

Even if you aren’t going strapless or backless you’ll want to schedule a professional body treatment of the shoulders and back, which includes a massage with an exfoliating polish, an algae wrap that firms the skin, and application of a moisturizer. This leaves the shoulder and back skin soft and glowy. This can be done anytime 1 week prior to the wedding, so it can also help relieve last-minute stress and jitters.

Hands

Men and women of any age like HydraFacial for the hands because it gets the skin on the hands looking healthy and glowy. This can be done the day prior to the wedding.

Renuva is another great option for older individuals because it restores lost volume that visibly ages hands and provides long-lasting results. It’s best to undergo this treatment 3 months prior to the wedding.

Skin Boosters You Can (and Should) Do at Home

Professional treatments can do fabulous things to improve your skin, but your most radiant look starts with everyday skin care. Both men and women should be on a good anti-aging skin care regimen for maintenance. Dr. Hernandez says the basic regimen should include three important steps:

  • A moisturizer that includes sunscreen, such as Neocutis Journee Revitalizing Day Cream with SPF 30
  • A great night cream with anti-aging growth factors, such as Neocutis Bio-Cream Bio-Restorative Overnight Soothing Cream
  • A great anti-aging eye cream, such as Neocutis Lumiere Illuminating Eye Cream
