What Are Spider Veins?
Spider veins are dilated capillaries on the skin that resemble spider legs. These small damaged veins are usually present on the face and legs.
There are many factors that can result in spider veins. Sitting and standing for long periods regularly can cause spider veins. The risk of developing these veins increases with age and pregnancy. Other potential causes include exposure to sunlight, hormonal changes, and injuries.
What Is ClearV™ Spider Vein Treatment?
ClearV™ is a laser treatment utilized for non-surgical spider-vein removal. Its Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™) heating technology targets the spider veins beneath the surface of the skin.
ClearV™ delivers targeted and precise laser energy into the treatment area. The 1064 nm wavelength is absorbed by oxygenated blood. This heats the vein and gently eliminates it, gradually resulting in clear and vein-free skin.
Am I a Good Candidate?
ClearV™ spider vein treatment is suitable for patients of all skin types. Most candidates for this laser treatment are between the ages of 30 and 60. Candidates must have realistic expectations and must follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions.
Patients with a history of blood clots must discuss this during their consultation to ensure that they are still suitable for ClearV™ spider vein treatment. Patients who have been pregnant or have breastfed within the past three months are not good candidates for this laser treatment.

Your ClearV Spider Vein Treatment Session
A ClearV™ spider vein treatment session usually lasts 15 minutes to one hour depending on the number of spider veins and size of the treatment area. The patient’s eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Laser energy will then be delivered into the treatment area, and the patient will feel a warm or hot sensation while the heat is being absorbed by the spider veins.
Aftercare
The patient can go home on the same day of the treatment session after we have given them the aftercare instructions. Minor symptoms such as redness, swelling, a sunburn sensation, and soreness may be experienced within 24 to 48 hours. The patient must avoid sun exposure for at least a week. Using a sunblock with SPF 30 or higher is recommended during recovery.
After two days, the patient may notice that the spider veins appear more visible or look slightly red, purple, or bruised. These will fade away after two to three weeks, and full results can be seen after four weeks.
