HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser Treatment Helps Tackle Skin
Living in sunny San Antonio means we get plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, but our skin can take a beating from all that exposure. Aging, acne scars, and other skin concerns can leave your complexion looking dull and uneven. At Eterna Cosmetic Surgery, we understand that achieving flawless skin often requires a tailored approach. That’s why we offer the HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser treatment—a revolutionary solution that combines both ablative and non-ablative resurfacing techniques. This innovative treatment effectively targets a range of skin issues, helping you reveal a more radiant and youthful appearance.
What Is HALO Laser Treatment?
HALO is the only laser technology of its kind. It is a fractional laser, which means it directly treats only a portion of the skin in the targeted area. This provides excellent results – improvement throughout the treatment area with less discomfort and faster recovery. HALO laser takes that a step further, with a hybrid system that delivers two wavelengths simultaneously. We can tune each of the wavelengths to fully customize treatment of both surface and subsurface issues, as needed.
HALO laser treatment can produce surprisingly impressive, long-lasting results, yet it is safe for all skin types and the treatment itself is virtually painless.
Who Is a Good Candidate for HALO Laser Treatments?
The fact that HALO is suitable for all skin colors, even darker tones, is another factor that sets it apart from most laser treatments. Young, as well as older adults, can benefit from this treatment because HALO can improve sun damage, pigmented lesions, enlarged pores, and acne scars. HALO laser treatments also improve signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, scars, skin discoloration including redness or brown spots from melasma, and it resurfaces the skin.
What Happens During the HALO Treatment?
Your HALO treatment will be performed by one of our laser-certified aestheticians, using a special hand-held device. The device includes highly sensitive technology that tracks motion and detects skin temperature. As we roll the handpiece over the skin, it measures constantly and recognizes when treatment is complete. This enables us to deliver precisely uniform treatment to the entire area.
We schedule patients for 1.5 hours or longer depending on how many areas we are treating. Most patients experience minimal or no discomfort. We apply a topical anesthetic an hour prior to the treatment and the handpiece features cooling technology that minimizes discomfort. Patients tend to describe the sensation they feel during the treatment session as comfortable heat or mild heat with a tingling sensation.
What To Expect During Halo Laser Recovery?
After your HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser treatment, you may feel a warm sensation in your skin for about half an hour, depending on the extent of your treatment. This warmth will naturally subside. Common side effects like swelling and redness can last for 2-3 days, and during this period, your skin will begin to peel, completing this process within 3 to 4 days. The peeling will reveal youthful, radiant skin underneath, and improvements will continue to develop over the following weeks and months. Many patients note significant results in their complexion after just one HALO treatment, with even more remarkable transformations documented in HALO laser before and after photos.
As for halo laser downtime, patients can typically return to their normal routines within 2 days. Makeup can be applied after 24 hours, but it’s crucial to protect your skin from sunlight and other UV sources for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Remember, in sunny San Antonio, wearing sunscreen is always advisable!
For optimal results, future HALO treatments can enhance your improvements even further. During your consultation, Dr. Hernandez will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and determine the best approach for your individual needs. You may choose between one or two more aggressive treatments or opt for multiple, less aggressive sessions to achieve your desired outcomes over time.
